Yoga was a natural path for Melissa after her first few years as a Physical Therapist. It allowed her not only the ability to heal herself, but also the ability to help others learn how to become more self aware and heal their own bodies without the constraints of the medical model. In that way it offers her balance not only in her own life through her own practice, but in her career too, now as a birth and postpartum doula. Yoga has been a natural adjunct to her ever changing career path.
 
Her classes are influenced by her studies in Tibetan kung fu, Katonah yoga, and Iyengar yoga which was a big part of her prenatal/postpartum yoga certification. She loves restorative, yin, pranayama and all the practices that bring us back into our parasympathetic nervous system. She strives to create a safe place for those that join her where you can feel comfortable to be yourself and show your personality while she shows hers, authenticity is best.
